On June 28, 2025, Jinglu Shipyard hosted a grand naming ceremony for two MR Product Oil / Chemical Tankers, "WECO MEMPHIS BELLE" and "WECO SENNA," built for Hartree Partners at the dockyard. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Joe Murphy, General Manager of Hartree Partners Shipping, John Dragnis, CEO of Oceangold, Johan Wedell-Wedellsborg, Chairman of Weco Tankers, Lin Li, Vice President of Business for American Bureau of Shipping Greater China, Lü Bin, Managing Director of FKAB Marine Design, Wang Yiming, Client Director of China Merchants Bank Leasing, and Wang Hong, Party Secretary and General Manager of Jinglu Shipyard.

During the ceremony, the ship’s godmother, Mrs. Charlotte Meyer, named the vessels and christened them with champagne, wishing them smooth voyages, harmonious cooperation, and prosperous journeys ahead. She expressed hopes that all those aboard the vessels would sail with pride, professionalism, and determination.

These two vessels are the latest generation of MR tankers built by Jinglu Shipyard, measuring 183.1 meters in length, 32.2 meters in width, and a design draft of 11.0 meters. With 20 cargo holds, they are among the most advanced ships in their category, capable of transporting 14 different types of cargo, including highly corrosive goods such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid.

The ships feature cutting-edge green technologies, including SCR systems, scrubbers, and shaft generators, significantly reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and carbon dioxide, achieving a remarkable blend of high energy efficiency and environmental performance. They are also equipped with pre-swirl stabilizers and high-efficiency twisted rudders (with rudder bulbs), further reducing fuel consumption and enhancing the ships’ maneuverability.

Additionally, the vessels have been granted a class notation for methanol dual-fuel readiness—Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D (TA, BK, FS, ME, AB), 3(S), providing the owner with maximum flexibility to adopt green alternative fuels in the future. This move sets an example for the industry’s efforts to promote "green and low-carbon" development.

The successful naming ceremony marks a significant step in Jinglu Shipyard’s commitment to innovation in shipbuilding technology and environmental sustainability, contributing to the ongoing development of the global shipping industry.
